AHG Lab

DRA Main Campus Office (AHG)

History meets the future in the Anna Hiss Gym (AHG), the main campus DRA hub, which includes our administrative, research development, program management, events and communications teams. Originally opened in 1931 and fully renovated in 2021, the building is a state-of-the-art robotics research facility and home of Texas Robotics and the Robotics Center of Excellence (RCOE). The School of Design and Creative Technologies also has two fabrication labs in the building connected by a shared workspace.

Secure Research Environment (SRE)

Located on the J. J. Pickle Research Campus in the Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Research Building (EME), this space is in the process of being built out for campus researchers who require higher levels of information assurance for DOD (Department of Defense) projects. This space is U.S. persons only, with dedicated IT infrastructure and information control plans, and restrictive operating procedures for information assurance. SRE includes 15,000 sq. ft. of space on two floors: the upper floor has hoteling office space and lab areas; the lower floor, known as the heavy vehicle bay (HVB), has a garage to work on large autonomous vehicles. Resources include a TACC/Virtual server to store documents that have limited distribution requirements.
